While prayer itself can be any heartfelt desire to know God better, prayer for healing is specifically based on applying the laws of God that were evident in Christ Jesus’ ministry. It is known as Christian Science treatment. This treatment is based on an understanding that experience is determined by thought, rather than the material circumstances we may find ourselves in. And just as Jesus proved that healing happens when consciousness is more anchored in the authority and laws of God than in material conditions, practitioners today work with others to resolve any problem through this same scientifically Christian method of healing.

A Journal-listed Christian Science practitioner advertises their practice in The Christian Science Journal. They are individuals who have chosen to dedicate their lives to following the example of Christ Jesus. Their life experience has cultivated in them a deep faith to trust God wholeheartedly and has shown them that Christian Science treatment can resolve and heal any issue. To advertise, they must go through an evaluation process with The Mother Church, which includes verified healing references.

You can contact practitioners advertising in The Christian Science Journal in the online directory. You can reach practitioners by phone, email, and sometimes by text. You can meet them in person, or work remotely.

Practitioners are self-employed and don’t receive any form of payment from the Church. Like everyone else, they need to be able to feed their families and put a roof over their heads, so they do charge a reasonable fee for their services in the spirit of Jesus’ guidance in the Bible that “the labourer is worthy of his hire” (Luke 10:7). Practitioners are happy to answer any questions patients may have about fees.
